This is the current list of incuse date stamps found on Pittsburg porcelain insulators.  If you have one not on the list, please contact me so your date can be added.  There was a recent reporting by Bill Haley of dates with ANS instead of Ans'd.  That is very different than the other markings.  It is thought that Pittsburg used a standard business rubber stamp where month and day can be changed along with various business related notations such as Ans'd, Ent'd, Rec'd, PAID, A. M., and P. M.  Obviously they must have used a somewhat different rubber stamp where the notation at the end is all capitalized.  Paul Greaves just reported a Westinghouse strain with marking DEC 23 REC.  I don't recall seeing a date code on a non-pintype.  So, there may be date codes with ENT, too.  The full date markings are manufacturing dates, but we may never know the meaning of the date control markings.
